KOKIA
SARUSUBERI no Yureru koro
When the Crape Myrtle Sway

Taisanboku no hokorashii saki sugata    nanimo iwazu ni kataru inochi no kagayaki
Hohoemi ni sotto hikiyoserarete     amai kaori ni yomigaeru omoide

The form of evergreen magnolia blooming proudly, conveying life's sparkle without saying a word,
Drawing you softly to its smile, provoking resurfacing memories with its sweet scent.

Tsuchi no nioi     taiyou no nioi     yuugure toki no yasashii koe

The smell of the earth, the smell of the sun, a kind voice in the twilight,
The today I accepted through my body calls forth a quiet night.

Niwasaki ni saita SARUSUBERI no hana     kaze ni yurarete nanika ni unazuita
SUKECCHIBUKKU to enpitsu katate ni    koshi wo oroshita engawa no nukumori

The flowers of the crape myrtle, blooming in the garden, look as if they're nodding at something as they sway in the wind.
I feel the porch's warmth as I sit with my sketchbook and pencil in hand.

Shiroi kami ni kaita hanabana     sora ni ukabete     nagameteita gogo
Dareka ga sotto atama wo nadete     yume no tsudzuki wo mamottekureteta

Flowers drawn on the white paper, floating in the sky, gazing at the afternoon,
Someone softly patted my head and protected the continuation of my dream.

Time has passed all too quickly, the countless scenes that have taken place are my treasures.
I'll put those precious memories away somewhere deep inside me, until I need them.
